It's All Stage-Management
Remember, we can't very well communicate what's happening when throughout the day, and these kids are young enough anyway that they couldn't remember. So, since we came home, I've instituted a system of "cues" such as songs, lighting changes, and room setups to communicate what activity ought to be happening. Sometimes it helps. They really do seem to notice: just this morning, both kids turned on their closet lights to signal "It's time to pick out clothes."
